Long road to development

`I have come here to bury to the last remnant of the cold war in the Americas.' That was US President Barack Obama's first statement to the Cuban people during his historic visit to the country.
There, he used the opportunity to highlight a number of his accomplishments as president., including health care reform and and gay rights. He also spoke about the areas where he would like to see progress, including money in politics and racial injustice.
That was the Us president. Now let's bring it to naija soil, where you hear presidents highlighting their achievements like this: we built schools, roads, we rivived the railway system, we established federal universities and dredged the River Niger.
While leaders of the countries now worry their heads about the rights of groups, we are worrying about food, roads and others. It made your tatafo realise how far behind we are as a country. Such achievements define our needs..since all we have are bad roads, poor infrastructure and a large number of hungry people, any leader can come and boast they he laid asphalt on the North-East -South-WealthRoad, gave out transformers and fiwls to people for Easter.
I think about the gap between a third world country and an advanced one and I shake my head for my fatherland.
