Stepping out of the convenience store, we spot him - again. The same man who perched against the window ledge a week ago, flashing a little card for money. Over a Kmart, a salvation army worker clangs her hand bell rhythmically, scanning the holiday shoppers as they rush past and hoping to meet a pair of friendly eyes.
Giving brings out the best in us and makes us a little bit more like God, the greatest Giver of all. And when we go through our lives with a perpetual attitude of giving, we are prompted to help when we are least aware of our Helpfulness.
When we give to others - of our time,resources, and friendship - we are blessed beyond measure. God always sees to it that our cup overflows when we stop to fill another's cup first.
